The first Mass was celebrated in Red Cliffs by Father Ryan at Mrs Ryan's guesthouse in 1920 with a congregation of 30.
Thr first church was built in Kiewa Avenue Red Cliffs in 1922. Parishioners at that time were estimated to number approximately 150. It was moved to Fitzroy Avenue in 1941.
From 1920 until 1953 Red Cliffs was part of the Mildura Parish and Mass was said by the priests from Mildura. The first Mass was celebrated in 1920 by Rev J Ryan in the dining room of a guest house.
The first Church was built in 1922. When Mildura opened their new brick Church in 1921, a fine marble altar was donated by Mrs Leydon, so the old wooden altar was given to the Church at Red Cliffs.
With the advent of many migrant families to the area who spoke little English, the Scalabrinian Fathers came to Red Cliffs and took charge of the Parish in 1963, with Father Dante Orsi being the first Parish Priest. At this time a new brick Peace Memorial Church was also erected.
1941 A larger Church was built for Red Cliffs Parishioners in Fitzroy Ave.
1953 Red Cliffs became a parish in its own right with Father Green as Parish Priest.
1993 Fr Monaghan was appointed Parish Priest to Red Cliffs.
2005 Fr Pat Flanagan appointed Parish Priest on retirement of Fr Frank Monaghan.
